Wrap Around Extension

Clients Visions

The clients contacted us to say they were thinking of having an extension. So we arranged a site survey with the clients to see if it was possible to design what they were wanting. After some initial ideas we came up with a design that the clients were happy with and then we submitted this to the local authority for planning permission the whole process took around 10 weeks for the designs and planning permission to be granted.

The Extensions

The clients chose a wrap around extension which consisted of a garage with 2 bedrooms above with ensuite and a single storey extension to the rear. They wanted to create as much light as possible in the new kitchen and dinning room which was achived by installing large velux windows in the roof space and removing a section of the dinning room wall.We also installed a velux sun tunnel to the landing area this allows natural light to be deflected to the chosen area.

Extra Works Requested

As the work progressed the client began to think about other rooms in the home that they were going to do in the future. It was at this point that the client asked us if we could give them an estimate for a new bathroom and a new roof.We gave them an estimate for the extra work they wanted to do in the future while carrying on with the original contract. We in formed the client that it would be cheaper to do the work now as the ceilings were down in the kitchen and the scaffolding was already erected for the extension. As you can see they decided to do all the work at once so they did not have to go through the upheaval again.
